Ask
Jess or Scott a question
We certainly don't have all the answers, but if you're new to
Karting or have a question about a class, chassis or particular
engine we've run shoot us an email. We've been around for awhile and
been fairly successful so we're happy to help.
How
do I get started in Karting?
Start by visiting your local track and by watching a few races. Ask
a lot of questions of the local club members and get to know them.
They'll point you to the best local kart dealers that can give you
even more information. Familiarize yourself with the various classes
to see what fits you best. Look for a class with a lot of
participation.
Next, log on to the national organization's websites to get a feel
for Karting on a national basis. The two most significant are the
the World Karting Association (WKA) and the the International
Karting Federation (IKF). The WKA is more popular in the eastern
U.S. and the IKF in the western U.S.
Take a little time before you buy a kart package so you are fully
informed. Be very hesitant to buy something used unless it's very
very current. It's important that you have a reasonably competitive
package otherwise you'll likely get discouraged once you start
racing. Karting evolves very fast and engines and chassis are often
obsolete after a year or so.
